The game originated in Scotland, where the first recorded information about golf is James II’s banning the game in 1457, as a distraction to learning archery.  Golf is certified as the oldest game in the world by the Guinness’ Book of World Records. The game of golf has been documented as being played on Musselburg Links, East Lothian, and Scotland as early as 2 March 1672, which is also certified as the oldest golf course.

A typical golf course consists of 18 holes, but 9-hole courses are common and can be played twice through for a full round of 18 holes.  Each round of golf is based on playing a number of holes in a given order. A round typically consists of 18 holes that are played in the order determined by the course layout. On a 9-hole course, a standard round consists of 2 consecutive nine-hole rounds.

Players can walk to their next shot or drive in golf carts over the course. The game can be played either individually or in groups and sometimes accompanied by caddies, who carry and manage the players' equipment and who are allowed by the rules to give advice on the play of the course, provided that the caddy would only give advice to the player or players for whom the caddy is working.

A player is allowed to carry at one time to carry a maximum of 14 clubs during a round. The golfer can choose the kind of clubs he uses, although every club must be based in accordance with parameters outlined in the rules. Violation of these rules can result in disqualification.

The exact shot hit at any given time on a golf course, and which club is used to accomplish the shot, are always completely at the discretion of the golfer; in other words, there is no restriction whatsoever on which club a golfer may or may not use at any time for any shot.

Tip # 1. The Feet: Slightly More than Shoulder Width

Your feet should be a little bit further apart than what the width of your shoulder span. This will ensure that you have a nice solid base. It is also extremely important to make sure that your shoulders, hips, knees and chin is all are properly aligned.

 

Swing Tip #2  The Chin 

Make sure that your chin is finding middle ground. Do not rest your chin against your chest and do not face straight out. Find the middle ground and that is where your chin should be. You can use your fist as a guide by placing it against your upper chest and allowing your chin to lightly touch it. This is where your chin should be. 

 

Tip #3  Your Grip Is Important

Grip your club properly. A weak grip could not only affect your game, but it could send your golf club flying, which is the last thing that you want to happen.  
  
Tip #4-Keep The Knees Bent Just Right

Do not bend your knees as though you are going to sit on them.  Do not lock your knees and do not fall over. You simply want to allow your knees to bend ever so slightly. This will allow you to properly conduct your back swing and follow through.

 

Tip #5 The Backswing

Out of all of the golf swing tips, this is the part that you really want to pay the most attention to. This is where a lot of golfers mess up and it costs them dearly in the game. When you first start on your backswing, make sure that your arms, hands, your right shoulder, the club head and the shaft are all moving as one single unit. Now, it is very important to realize that your hip needs to stay in place and build up resistance. Think of your body as a spring. The top half is turning and twisting, right before the release.

Tip #6-Follow Through
It is important to make sure that you are following through with the golf swing. Do not stop at the ball or shortly thereafter. Make sure that you are following it through all of the way in order to make sure that you are hitting the ball as hard as you can and also sending it in the right direction.
